Products and Ingredients
Where are you based?
We are based in Torquay, Devon. UK
Is everything plant-based and natural?
Yes! We use the highest quality plant-derived ingredients (natural plant oils, butters, clay and salts) with no synthetics (no dyes, no fragrances, and no synthetic preservatives).
Are your products cruelty-free?
Yes, no animals have been harmed when making our products.
Are your products gluten & soy free?
Yes, all of our products contain no added gluten and no added soy.
What’s the shelf life of your ingredients?
Use Wild Rising Skincare products within 12 months of purchase to ensure optimal freshness. To maintain freshness for that span of time always wash your hands before use, keep products out of direct sunlight and in a cool, dry place.
Are your products made in small batches?
Yes always! Each product is made in a small batch. This keeps ingredients fresh and pure, thus ensuring your products are incredibly nutrient dense and effective.
What is Limonene, Linolool & Citronellol?
Don’t panic, these are still natural and are occurring components of essential oils. None of our products include any synthetic chemicals, artificial fragrances or parabens.
Do your products contain preservatives?
Yes, but no sketchy synthetic preservatives are allowed! By natural, we actually mean it. If we sell a product that has a water-soluble component, we use an naturally originated preservative to stave off the development of mold, fungus & bacteria.
Why does my product look/smell different to the last one purchased?
Due to the nature of using 100% pure, natural, and wild-harvested ingredients, the colour, scent, and/or texture may vary with every batch. This does not affect efficacy; it is simply the beautiful inconsistency that comes with keeping ingredients as close to the earth as we can get!
You can read more on this here: Embracing Nature: Why natural skincare products change in colour, scent and texture
How do I store my Wild Rising Skincare products?
Tightly close all lids and caps after opening. Store your products upright in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
Are your products safe to use during pregnancy and/or whilst breastfeeding?
Yes, however, every person and pregnancy is different, so if you have any questions or concerns about ingredients and pregnancy/breastfeeding, please consult with your Midwife/Dr. The complete list of ingredients can be found under each product listing on our website.
Do you have a refill and/or plastic-free option?
Yes! Here is a link to our refill and plastic free options:
https://wildrisingskincare.com/collections/refills
Our refills are our Wild Rising Besties as they are sealed with aluminum tops and free of any plastics! Many other brands incorporate pouches as part of their refill programs. However, we’ve researched and our approach with glass bottles and aluminum tops has an even lower ecological footprint! Aluminum, like glass, is widely and easily recycled.
Which products should I use if I'm new to Wild Rising Skincare?
As all our formulations are gentle and work in harmony with your skin, you can feel confident introducing any of our products into your current skincare regime.
We wrote a little guide here: How to build an affordable natural skincare routine.
I have oily skin, do I still need to moisturise?
All skin, however oily, needs nurturing with vitamins and essential fatty acids at least once a day, morning and night if possible. This is to ensure that it's in the best possible condition. Look for a light and non-greasy face oil (like our hemp seed face oil,Super Seed) that is easily absorbed into the skin.
I have ______ skin type , what products would your recommend for my skin?
We completely understand it can cause a headache deciding on which products are best suited to your skin. This is why we will tailor a skin routine specifically for you. Just select your skin type from the drop down menu and we will do the rest.
Still have questions, please contact us and we will do our best to help you.
Why are powdered face masks better than liquid ones?
Our powdered face masks contain dry ingredients that need to be activated by mixing them with water or any other liquid. As a result the powder can stay stable for longer and therefore does not need preservatives, making it a safer alternative for the skin. Liquid masks are already activated and need to be used quickly after opening.
Don’t forget that mixing a powdered face mask with water, oil or honey gives you the satisfaction of preparing your own beauty recipe at home.
How often can I use a face mask?
How long do I leave a face mask on for?
Clay masks work wonders on your skin BUT only when they are moist. Try to avoid letting the mask dry completely as this may lead to redness. Remove with a damp cloth and water. Do not scrub. Follow with one of our face oils.
You can always keep your face moist by misting with water or one of our Rose Water face toners.
Why is my face red after using a mask?
Some redness after a clay mask application is normal because clay brings blood to the surface of your skin whilst absorbing impurities. Just make sure you don’t leave it on for too long.
