The concept of water-free skincare (also known as anhydrous skincare) started in South Korea in 2015 and refers to products that are formulated without the use of water.
Instead, they are produced using alternatives such as fruit and flower water, plant extracts, waxes and oils. Some come in a concentrated powdered form that can be mixed with water at home to activate the product
How often should I use a clay face mask?
For most skin types, 1-2 times a week is perfect! If you have oily or acne-prone skin, you can use it up to 3 times a week.
Can I use a clay mask if I have sensitive skin?
Yes! Opt for gentle clays like Kaolin, found in our Purify Botanical Clay Mask, which is specifically formulated to cleanse without stripping or irritating sensitive skin.
Should I let my clay mask dry completely?
Nope! It's best to rinse your clay face mask off when it’s still slightly damp to avoid over-drying your skin. Typically with 5-10 minutes. Then use a facial oil to moisturise and hydrate the skin.
Can I mix my clay mask with something other than water?
Definitely! Try mixing rose water for added hydration, honey for extra nourishment, or aloe vera to soothe the skin.
Can clay masks help with blackheads?
Yes! Clay draws out impurities and unclogs pores, helping to reduce blackheads over time. Our Detox Activated Charcoal Mask is a great choice as it was specifically formulated to target those pesky blackheads!
How does waterless skincare benefit my skin compared to traditional water-based products?
Waterless skincare products are more potent and can deliver higher concentrations of beneficial ingredients directly to your skin. This can result in more noticeable improvements in skin hydration, texture, and overall appearance compared to traditional water-based products.
